The International Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday that Israel is obliged to ensure that the population of the Gaza Strip has “the basic needs” essential for survival in accordance with international humanitarian law.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has killed 68,229 people in Gaza and injured 170,369 others, the majority of whom are women and children, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reports.
